RNZ: In US visit, Prince William praises Air New Zealand for joining fight against illegal wildlife trade

On his first visit to Washington, Britain's Prince William is urging world leaders to join the battle against the illegal trade in wildlife.

Speaking at the World Bank, he said "organized criminal gangs" now dominate the trade.

He urged private sector companies to crack down on the transportation of illegal goods, and he praised Air New Zealand for taking a lead.
