Kenyatta vows to fight terrorist extremists after massacre

Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta has pledged to fight terorism aimed at dismantling the country's democratic foundations following a massacre by Islamist group al-Shabab.

The president asked Kenyans to unite, and vowed not to flinch in war against terrorists.

President Kenyatta has replaced his interior minister and police chief David Kimayo stood down in a high-level reshuffle.. 

The al-Shabab group killed 36 quarry workers in the Mandera region near the Somali border Monday evening.

Non-Muslim workers were shot dead after being separated from the Muslims.

President Kenyatta said the time had come for Kenyans to chose sides in the war on terrorists.
