Scotland's First Minister Nicola Sturgeon says Glasgow is a broken-hearted city following the deaths of six people who were mowed down by an out-of-control bin lorry.
Police in the city have confirmed that the six victims were five women and one man. The bodies have been removed overnight from the scene in Glasgow city centre to allow for formal identification.
10 other people including the driver of the lorry were injured during the crash in George Square after the lorry careered out-of-control. Eye witnesses said the driver was slumped over the wheel of the lorry at the time. Six people, remain in hospital.
Just before Christmas last year a police helicopter crashed into the Clutha Vaults pub close to Monday's accident, killing ten people. Scotland's First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said the city was in mourning once more.
