Execution of mentally ill Texas murderer stopped by US Court of Appeals

The execution of a mentally-ill inmate on death row in Texas has been halted just hours before it was due to get underway.


A federal appeals court says there are "complex legal issues" in the case that require further examination, after even some death penalty supporters tried to prevent Scott Panetti's execution from taking place.
