Disdain After NY Police Avoid Charges After Choking Death

A grand jury in New York has voted not to charge the police officers involved in choking to death an unarmed black man in Staten Island.

Eric Garner died after a white police officer brought him to the ground in a chokehold.

Many lawmakers are expressing disbelief at the decision, especially because the strangulation was recorded on a video which has been widely distributed.

The decision comes only days after a grand jury decided not to charge an officer with shooting to death an unarmed teenager in Ferguson, Missouri.
