CIA accused of "deception" and "brutality" in Senate report on Bush-era torture

A widely-anticipated report by Democrats in the US Senate accuses the CIA of misleading the American public about the torture techniques unleashed against suspected members of Al Qaeda in the aftermath of the September 11th attacks.


President Obama says the report shows that the CIA's techniques during the era of President George W. Bush "did significant damage to America's standing in the world".
