The alert level has been raised since Australia increased its military support for efforts to undermine the Islamic State organization in Iraq and Syria.
Abbott says security agencies have detected increased "chatter" following the siege in which an extremist killed two people during a hostage drama in Sydney.
The term "chatter" refers to analysis of intercepted phone and Internet communications, but the Prime Minister didn't elaborate on the intelligence...
