The Obama administration is welcoming the decision by Israel to end the age restrictions at the Temple Mount.
In Jerusalem, the Temple Mount is thought to be one of the holiest places in the world to Jews, Christians and Muslims, but access has been limited to this religious site to adults over 35.
U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry has been meeting with officials across the region and U.S. State Department spokesperson Jen Psaki says Washington welcomes the deal reached to re-open the Temple Mount.
