Voting is underway in America's mid-term elections, with Republicans hopeful that they will capture control of the US Senate and be in a position to block President Obama's initiatives during his remaining two years in office.
One-third of the Senate and the entire House of Representatives are up-for-grabs.
Elections are also taking place for the post of Governor in 36 of America's 50 states.
