Obama reaps US Midterm whirlwind, invites Republicans to White House

President Obama has invited leaders of Congress to the White House for talks later this week, after the Republicans made sweeping gains in America's mid-term elections.


From January, they will control both houses of Congress after seizing control of the US Senate by capitalizing on widespread voter disappointment in the President.
