Millions Pledged For Ebola Drug Trial As World Bank Downgrades Economic Impact Forecast

The World Bank chief economist has said that effect of the Ebola epidemic on the economy of sub Saharan Africa is likely to be around 3 to 4 billion US dollars, rather than the original worse case scenario forecast of 32 billion dollars.

It comes as the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has pledged 5.7 million dollars towards a programme to increase production of experimental Ebola treatments in the affected countries.
