Nurses across the United States are holding a global day of action over ebola, demanding better training and equipment to help fight the disease.
The U.S.'s largest nurses union, National Nurses United, says a lack of preparedness for the ebola crisis is symptomatic of the erosion of patient care standards more generally.
Almost 20,000 nurses went on strike in California on Tuesday in advance of the protests.
