Social workers says Pistorius will be vulnerable in prison

INTRO:   Research presented in mitigation of sentence in the trial of Paralympic athlete Oscar Pistorius, about the state of prisons in South Africa, has been rubbished as google searches by the state prosecutor. Social worker Annette Vergeer (fur-gear) testified in mitigation of sentence in the trial of Paralympic athlete Oscar Pistorius, who has been found guilty of culpable homicide for shooting and killing his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp. Prosecutor Gerrie Nel accused the probation officer of basing her research on information obtained on the internet. 

But under cross examination, the social worker was adamant that Pistorius would not be safe in prison ...

Social worker Annette Vergeer, who testified for the defence in the mitigation of sentence, also told the court that Pistorius would be severely exposed if someone took his prosthetic legs away.
