Key terror suspects believed to have survived US airstrikes

American intelligence officials reportedly now believe that some key terrorist suspects may have survived US airstrikes targeting their organisation.

They're leading members of the so-called Khorasan (pron: COOR-ah-saan) Group, which was hit at the start of the US-led aerial campaign against extremist elements in Syria.

As Malcolm Brown reports, the Pentagon has - until now - provided only vague assessments about the impact of the strikes.
