IS TAKE CONTROL OF PARTS OF KOBANE

Civilians continue to flee as Islamic State militants take control of three districts of the Syria-Turkey border town of Kobane.

The town is crucial because it would give IS control of a long stretch of the Turkish-Syrian border, if they can take it.

Tens of thousands have fled the town as IS advance - most of them Kurds.

An air strike from the US-led coalition has reportedly been carried out (Tuesday) in the area.
