Ten per cent of (Tuesday's) flights at London's Heathrow airport have been cancelled as the tail end of Hurricane Gonzalo batters the UK.
Warnings about high winds and possible flooding are in place for much of the country with disruptions also caused to trains, ferries and roads.
Forecaster Piers Gorban says the Hurricane also heralds the proper start of British winter.
