US urges action on Ebola

The World Health Organization is reporting nearly 3,000 have died from Ebola and there are nearly 6500 confirmed cases.

The rapid spread of the epidemic - which may infect more than 20,000 in the next month in Africa - was the reason for a special session at the United Nations General Assembly on the global response.

U.S. President Barack Obama underscored the urgency of responding to the Ebola epidemic.
