US Attorney General announces pilot program to counter home grown extremism

US attorney general Eric Holder has announced a strategy aimed at preventing American extremists from joining terrorist groups, including those drawn to conflicts in Syria and Iraq.

He says the Justice Department is launching a series of pilot programs in cities across the country - bringing together community representatives, public safety officials and religious leaders to counter extremism.
