Kerry travels to Middle East to discuss ISIL threat

America's top diplomat is travelling to the Middle East  to discuss the situation in Iraq and the threat from Islamic State militants.

It comes after the US praised the Iraqi government following the formation of a new cabinet that shares out posts between  the Shia Arab majority, Sunni Arabs and Kurds.

US Secretary of State John Kerry says nearly every country on Earth has a role to play in eliminating the threat of the Islamic State militant group operating in Syria and Northern Iraq.
