KERRY TO GO ON COALITION BUILDING TRIP TO JORDAN AND SAUDI ARABIA

US Secretary of State John Kerry is heading to Jordan and Saudi Arabia on Tuesday on a "coalition building trip" to degrade the Islamic State.

US State Department Spokesperson Jen Psaki said Mr. Kerry will discuss ways to combat ISIL and improve security in the Middle East with Jordanian and Saudi Arabian officials.

The State Department is also "actively pursuing" opportunities for the Secretary to meet with other regional leaders during his trip.

Ms. Psaki said "more than forty" countries have so far contributed to the effort in Iraq - some publicly and some privately.
