The White House is defending President Obama's controversial remark that the US does not have a plan in Syria.
In his daily briefing, White House Spokesperson Josh Earnest took a grilling from the press, who wanted to know what the president meant by his remark, and how the US could lack a plan considering the severity of the crisis in Syria.
Mr. Earnest said the media was misinterpreting the President's remark.
He said Mr. Obama was narrowly addressing the question of whether he would hypothetically seek congressional approval before using military force in Syria.
Josh Earnest explained that the President meant to say the question was premature as the US is still formulating a variety of military options.
