Italy calls for "Marshall Plan" for Ukraine as it hosts reconstruction conference in Rome


Italy's government is calling for a "Marshall Plan" for Ukraine as it hosts a conference on reconstruction for the war torn country.

Through the Marshall Plan, the U.S. provided massive economic assistance to Europe after World War 2.

Nigeria Begins Evacuation of its Citizens in Sudan

Nigeria has commenced the evacuation of about 5,500 of its nationals stranded in Khartoum, and other cities in Sudan.

'OVER 200' UK NATIONALS EVACUATED ON SUDAN FLIGHTS

Over 200 UK nationals have been evacuated from Sudan on rescue flights, according to the Foreign Office.

RAF planes have landed in Cyprus, with more expected on Wednesday.

The UK's response for nationals in Sudan that aren't diplomats, has been criticised as slower than some other countries.

But Defence Secretary Ben Wallace has rejected that.

Singaporean Drug Trafficker Executed Despite Calls for Clemency


A Singaporean man convicted for trying to traffic drugs has been executed despite calls for clemency from his family and activists.

46-year-old Tangaraju Suppiah was hanged at Changi Prison, according to his family.

First Republic Bank shares plunge nearly 50%

Concerns are growing about the health of First Republic Bank after it  announced that depositors withdrew around $100 billion in the first quarter of the year.


First Republic shares fell 49% in trading Tuesday.

UN Secretary General calls Belafonte a "fearless campaigner for civil rights."

The United Nations Secretary-General has extended his condolences to the family of Harry Belafonte who has died at the age of 96.

UNSG hopes Russia agrees to extend Grain Deal

France closes its embassy and evacuates over 500 people in Sudan

Mass evacuations are continuing in Sudan, as foreign countries move their citizens to safety.


France has confirmed it's evacuated at least 538 people, including 209 of its nationals.
