Over a hundred headstones damaged at Jewish cemetery

A number of headstones have been vandalized at a Jewish cemetery in
the U.S. city of Philadelphia.

A similar incident occurred several days ago elsewhere in the country
and a number of Jewish centers have also received bomb threats in
recent weeks.

Father of US commando killed in Yemen refused to meet Trump

The father of a US navy seal killed in a raid in Yemen last month said he refused to meet with President Trump on the day his son's body was returned home.

The raid - approved by Donald Trump just six days into his presidency - is also believed to have killed several civilians, including children.

William Owens - the father of Chief Petty Officer Owens - told The Miami Herald the government owes his son an investigation.

Trump Budget ‘To Cut Funds to State Department and EPA’

The White House is set to send a budget proposal to federal departments that will increase spending on defence but cut the money for the State Department and Environmental Protection Agency - that's according to the Reuters news agency.

It quotes two anonymous officials, who said that the plans would see the Pentagon get more money for shipbuilding and aircraft.

South Korea strikes deal on controversial missile defense site

The US is expected to install a new missile defense system to South Korea following a deal reached on a site for the deployment.

The Terminal High Altitude Area Defense system is aimed at dealing with the missile threat from North Korea, but is strongly opposed by both China and Russia.

UK Child Abuse Inquiry begins first public hearing

A UK inquiry into child sexual abuse is holding its first public hearing after it was set up in 2014.


The Inquiry was set up after the death of television personality Jimmy Savile, when allegations that he abused hundreds of people as children came forward.


But the work has been dogged by controversy and placed in the hands of four separate charwomen since  its launch.

LSE, DEUTSCHE MERGER IN DOUBT

The proposed merger between the London Stock Exchange and Deutsche Boerse is in doubt with the LSE saying it believes the deal is unlikely to be approved by the European Commission.

The 29 billion euro tie-up was designed to create a trading operation that could compete better against major American rivals.

Armenia and Azerbaijan urged to step back from fighting after weekend violence

European and US officials are calling on Armenia and Azerbaijan to step back from fighting as fresh conflict has broken out in Europe's oldest ongoing war.

Fears mastermind will never be found on 2-year anniversary of Boris Nemtsov's murder
