Fed leaves interest rates unchanged

The US Central Bank has left interest rates unchanged at its first meeting of the year, despite pressure from President Trump, who wants borrowing costs to be lowered. 


As expected, the Federal Reserve left interest rates in the range of 3.5 percent to 3.75 percent

New video shows Pretti vandalizing federal agents' car in Minneapolis

Newly released video footage appears to show Alex Pretti, the 37-year old nurse who was shot dead by Border Patrol agents in Minneapolis last weekend, vandalizing a government car in a contentious standoff with immigration agents earlier this month.


The video was filmed by a British news organization 11 days before Mr. Pretti's killing, and contradicts some claims by Mr. Pretti's family that he always engaged in peaceful protest against President Trump's mass deportation policies.

FBI searches Georgia election office for 2020 records

The FBI has searched a Georgia election office as part of an investigation linked to US President Donald Trump's false claims that the 2020 election was rigged.


The search focused on records, computers, and ballots connected to the vote count in Fulton County.

President Donald Trump says the Mayor of Minneapolis - Jacob Frey (prono: fry) -  is "playing with fire" for refusing to enforce federal immigration laws - threatening to renew tensions after a slight de-escalation in recent days after last weekend's fatal shooting of ICU nurse Alex Pretti. Amazon cuts 16,000 more jobs in the US
