Modi and Starmer hail trade deal as UK-India ties strengthen

France awaits new prime minister to be announced by embattled president

The French president Emmanuel Macron says he will name a new prime minister in the next 48 hours.

The current premier, Sebastien Lecornu, spoke to French media after two days of last-ditch negotiations with MPs to try to create the conditions for a government which can pass the budget needed for next year.
