The UK government will reportedly help around 40 students living in Gaza come to study in Britain after pressure from lecturers, politicians, and activists.

They had all received offers from UK universities, but Israel's war against Hamas has significantly complicated their ability to leave the territory.

Chicago officials push back against possible plans for National Guard deployment to city

Trump threatens tariffs on tech regulators

French opposition tries to force Emmanuel Macron to resign

The far-left French opposition party France Unbowed says it will formally start a process on 23 September to try to force President Macron to resign.

The party also says that if the prime minister, François Bayrou, loses a confidence vote that he has called in himself for 8 September, then President Macron should step down.
