India protests Pakistan role on UN terror panel

India's Defence Minister has criticised Pakistan's recent appointment to two United Nations Security Council committees.

India blames neighbour Pakistan for a terror attack in Kashmir earlier in the year, after which it launched cross-border air strikes targetting 'terror infrastructure'.

Pakistan denies the claim and the two sides were involved in a nearly week-long military conflict in May that ended after the US reportedly brokered a ceasefire.
