ZELENSKY SAYS PUTIN 'SILENT' ON ISTANBUL MEETING

Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky says Russia's Vladimir Putin hasn't responded to his offer to meet in Turkey on Thursday.

In his nightly address, Zelensky accused Putin of 'remaining silent' on the proposed face to face meeting.

Asian markets cheer amid pause in US-China trade war

INTRO: Asian stocks followed a US rally as investors heaved a sigh of relief after a truce between the US and China eased worries of a global recession.

India's prime minister Modi issues warning to Pakistan

As a fragile ceasefire between India and Pakistan appears to be holding, India's prime minister on Monday warned Pakistan that the country would target "terrorist hideouts" again if there were any more attacks.

The two nuclear-armed neighbours reached a ceasefire on Saturday following intense fighting last week. This was connected to a deadly attack in Indian Kashmir last month, which New Delhi linked to Pakistan – and Islamabad denied.

First group of white South African “refugees” lands in US

US & China agrees 115% tariff reduction

China hails 'substantial progress' in trade talks with US

INTRO: China hailed on Monday "substantial progress" with the United States after talks in Geneva on dialling down their trade war yielded dramatic cuts to import tariffs.

The world's two biggest economies agreed to suspend their respective tariffs for 90 days while they negotiate. The US tariffs on Chinese imports will now be cut to 30 per cent , while Chinese tariffs on US imports will be cut to 10 per cent. Laura Westbrok reports from Hong Kong.

The US and China have reached agreement to lower tariffs temporarily after concluding that they "neither side" favored the trade war underway between the two countries.

Trump hints at China tariff reduction ahead of Switzerland talks

​Trump administration readying to bring first group of White Afrikana “refugees” to US - NYT


The New York Times says the Trump Administration is close to relocating a first group of white South Africans to the US, even as virtually all other refugee programs grind to a halt.

Trump has criticized a new South African law that allows for the seizure of private land - which is largely owned by the white minority -  as an assault on their rights.
