Indian authorities have deployed troops in the eastern state of West Bengal following violent protests triggered by recent changes to the country's laws on how donated Islamic properties are governed.

The Supreme Court says the U.S. government has to return a man who was mistakenly deported to an El Salvador prison, claiming he is a member of a gang.
According to a 2019 ruling, Kilmar Abrego Garcia is a Salvadoran who should have been protected from being sent back due to threats by gangs. Caroline Malone reports.
