US GOVT PLANS TO FINE ILLEGAL MIGRANTS EACH DAY UNTIL THEY LEAVE

The U.S. government is planning to fine migrants who are ordered to leave the countrynearly a thousand dollars a day until they do.

That's according to a new report from Reuters, which notes it's a move former President Trump implemented during his first term in office.

NUCLEAR TALKS SET FOR SATURDAY BETWEEN USA AND IRAN

Talks between Iran and the US are set to take place this Saturday in Oman. 

Tehran has confirmed its Foreign Minister will attend the meeting, after President Trump announced the talks Monday during a visit from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

India's power consumption rises drastically due to extreme heat

India's electricity demand during the summer months of 2024 rose by more than 10% compared to the year before.

Experts say the rise from April to June was due to the increased use of air conditioning contributing to high energy consumption.

French president visits Egypt-Gaza border region

The French president is visiting the Egyptian border region with Gaza on Tuesday, as part of a continuing tour focused on ending the fighting and supporting reconstruction in the Palestinian enclave.

Emmanuel Macron is visiting a hospital to speak with Palestinains injured in Israel's ongoing strikes on the territory.

He will also meet NGOs and UN agencies operating along the border with Gaza.

In a sharp contrast to escalating tensions between the US and China, New Delhi has discussed the 'early resolution' of a bilateral trade deal with the US.

China vows to ‘fight to the end’ if US insists on new tariffs

Trump says he won't pause tariffs but may be open to negotiation

US President Donald Trump has said he has no plans to pause global tariffs but said he was open to negotiation with some countries.

But he threatened a further 50 per cent tariff on China if it doesn't withdraw its retaliatory tariff by midday on Tuesday.

Trump administration asks Supreme Court to block return of mistakenly deported man

The Trump administration has asked the Supreme Court to block a court order requiring it to return a man who was mistakenly deported to a notorious prison in El Salvador.

A District Court Judge has given the administration until just before midnight Monday to facilitate Kilmar Abrego Garcia's return to the US.

Global Markets Tumble In Response to US Tariffs

Global markets plummeted on Monday after US President Donald Trump doubled down on a raft of tariffs he is labelling 'medicine', insisting foreign governments would have to pay "a lot of money" to lift them. 

Markets across Asia tumbled, with the Hong Kong market index suffering its biggest single day drop since 1997. China's foreign ministry spokesperson called the tariffs "protectionist bullying". 


European stocks have followed the trend, with the UK's FTSE 100 falling 6% within minutes of opening on Monday, and the pan-European STOXX 600 also falling by 5.8%. 


Alice Haine, financial analyst at London based financial company Bestinvest, says tariffs are sending shockwaves across the global economy.

Ukraine calls for greater pressure on Russia after weekend attacks

Ukraine's President is calling on allies to increase pressure on
