Police in Wisconsin say a "combination of factors" appear to have been the motivation behind Monday's deadly shooting at a private Christian school which left three dead. That includes the alleged shooter who has been identified as a 15 year old girl. Toni Waterman has more.

US Congress strikes deal to prevent shutdown

United States lawmakers have struck a bipartisan deal to keep the government functioning by pushing a funding deadline to March.

Guilty verdict in trial over killing of tech exec Bob Lee

40 YEARS FOR MAN WHO BEAT DAUGHTER TO DEATH

A man who beat his 10-year-old daughter to death will spend at least 40 years in prison. The girl's step-mother, who also beat her, must serve 33 years.

That's after the schoolgirl, Sara Sharif, suffered years of cruelty by her supposed caregivers that the sentencing judge called "almost inconceivable".

Russian General Assassinated In Moscow

The head of Russia's nuclear defence forces has been killed in an explosion in Moscow.


Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov was blown up by a device hidden in an electric scooter as he left a residential block this morning.


Sources in Kyiv say Ukraine has claimed responsibility for the attack.


On Monday the General was sentenced in absentia by Ukraine for using banned chemical weapons in the ongoing conflict.

French president to travel to "devastated" island of Mayotte

The French president Emmanuel Macron says he will travel to France's Indian Ocean territory of Mayotte in the coming days, as rescue teams rush to locate the missing.

The interior minister says the French island has been "devastated" after Cyclone Chido hit the territory.

At least 20 people have been confirmed dead, but authorities fear that hundreds of people could have died in the disaster.
