Walz, Vance face off for first and only VP debate

US Vice presidential candidates JD Vance and Tim Walz will face off later today [TUESDAY] for what's expected to be their first and only debate ahead of November's election.


The presidential race remains extremely competitive with both Kamala Harris and Donald Trump looking to gain any edge they can in the battleground states that will decide the election.

New French prime minister to lay out political vision to divided parliament

The new French prime minister Michel Barnier (PRON: Bar-nee-ey) will lay out his political vision on Tuesday, addressing a divided parliament in Paris.

Barnier is heading a minority government after an inconclusive election in July.

Ryan Routh pleads not guilty to attempting to assassinate Donald Trump

The man accused of plotting to kill former president Donald Trump at his Florida golf course has pleaded not guilty to five counts including attempting to assassinate a major presidential candidate.


Prosecutors allege Ryan Routh stalked Donald Trump before setting up what they called a "sniper's nest" at the edge of his golf course in west Palm Beach, Florida.

Biden to visit Hurricane Helene areas

US President Joe Biden says he plans to visit areas hit by Hurricane

UN Security Council extends mandate of the security mission to Haiti

The United Nations Security Council has approved the extension of the
Multinational Security Support mission to Haiti by another year.
Last year, the council authorized the Kenyan-led international
security mission to assist the Caribbean country to help restore order
