Imran Khan former Pakistani Prime Minister faces new legal battle

New York to consider slavery reparations

New York City will examine its historical role in the slave trade and could offer controversial reparations as a result.


Legislation passed by the city council this week approved a new study into the legacy of slavery and racial injustice.


Eight lawmakers voted against the bill - with one calling the idea of taxpayers funding reparations "insulting".
