Scorching Temperatures Across US Midwest and Northeast Prompt Warnings

Dangerously hot temperatures are expected across the Midwest and Northeast in the United States this week.

The US National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather warning for parts of Connecticut, New Jersey and New York.

UK VOTER REGISTRATION DEADLINE NEARS

Britons are being warned to make sure they're registered to vote in the country's general election with the deadline hours away.

An estimated 4 million first time voters still haven't signed up, which they will need to do by the end of Tuesday (2300GMT).

Indian man extradited to US over alleged Sikh separatist assassination attempt

An Indian man accused of attempting to kill a Sikh separatist on American soil has been extradited to the United States.


Nikhil Gupta is scheduled to appear Monday in a New York courthouse on federal murder-for-hire charges.


Prosecutors say he was behind a failed assassination attempt of Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, a prominent critic of the Indian government.
