Defectors send propaganda balloons into North Korea
A group of North Korean defectors say they have sent balloons full of propaganda across the border from South Korea.
It says the 10 balloons are in response to North Korea sending propaganda into South Korea last week.

Bird flu strains spreading through US and Mexico
There are growing concerns about strains of bird flu infecting livestock and humans in the United States.
There have been at least three confirmed cases of people developing the H5N1 virus in recent months, including in the US states of Texas and Michigan.
Authorities, though, say the risk to the general public is still low.

Bannon ordered to prison by July 1st
Former senior adviser to Donald Trump, Steve Bannon, has been ordered to report to prison by July 1st by a federal judge, after a higher court rejected his appeal.
Bannon was sentenced to four months in jail for failing to provide documents and testimony to the House committee investigating the January 6th attack on the US Capitol.

UN pays tribute to UNRWA staff killed in Gaza
188 UN personnel who lost their lives in 2023, in the line of duty.
At the ceremony held in New York on Thursday the 135 staff who worked
for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency, UNRWA, in Gaza were
among those remembered.
