Harvey Weinstein to be retried in September

Harvey Weinstein will be retried in New York as early as the fall.
Last week New York's highest court threw out the former Hollywood
producer's 2020 rape conviction.
The 72 year old has been serving a 23-year sentence in a prison.

Former Trump aide Steve Bannon due in court over "Build the Wall" fraud allegations

A former senior advisor to Donald Trump, Steve Bannon, is set to appear in court in New York on Wednesday over allegations that he defrauded people who donated to the campaign to build a wall along the US Mexico border.


Bannon has pleaded not guilty to charges of money laundering, conspiracy and scheming to defraud in connection with $15 million in donations.

Hundreds arrested at Columbia pro-Palestinian protests

Police in New York City have arrested more than 300 pro-Palestinian protestors, following the occupation of a building at Columbia University, the latest escalation since demonstrators set up an encampment at the school several weeks ago.


Unrest continues at campuses across the US, with Los Angeles also clearing an encampment at UCLA  following clashes with pro-Israel counterprotestors.

Crowds dispersed in Georgia over foreign agent bill

Police in the Georgian capital Tbilisi have fired water cannons and

At least a 100 Delhi schools receive bomb threat email, probe underway

At least a hundred schools in New Delhi and neighbouring satellite towns received a bomb threat email in the early hours of Wednesday.

Several schools were evacuated, while many announced closure after receiving the threats over email.

A probe is underway by local police as well as federal investigative agencies.

Indian MP accused of sexual assault summoned for questioning
