UNSC to vote on Palestinian membership on Thursday

The United Nations Security Council will vote on allowing Palestine
full membership at the world body on Thursday.
The meeting is expected to take place at 5PM New York time.
A council resolution will need at least nine votes in favor and no
vetoes by the U.S., Britain, France, Russia or China to pass.
However, the United States has indicated that it'll use its veto to
block the move.
Speaking to reporters, the US' Deputy Ambassador Robert Wood insisted
that full membership of Palestine should happen through direct
negotiations between the parties and not at the United Nations.
