SBF sentenced to 25 years

The one-time "king of crypto" has been sentenced to 25 years in prison
having been found guilty on seven counts of fraud and conspiracy.

Sam Bankman-Fried's cryptocurrency exchange FTX was worth 32 billion
dollars before it went bankrupt in 2022.

Big bucks expected for President Biden from celebrity fundraiser in New York


U.S. President Joe Biden is in New York on Thursday for a star-studded fundraiser with the likes of Barack Obama and Bill Clinton in attendance to raise money for his re-election campaign.

Hair discrimination one step closer to being criminal in France

French lawmakers in the lower house of Parliament have adopted a bill that would make it illegal to discriminate based on hair cut, color, length or texture. It's now headed to the Senate - where its fate is far less certain. The bill is inspired by the CROWN Act in the US - which has been adopted by more than 20 states. Disney and Florida governor reach settlement

The Walt Disney Company and a board appointed by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis say they've reached a settlement over how Walt Disney World is governed in the future.


The agreement resolves a legal dispute lasting nearly two years.

Italian teacher in Hungarian jail denied release

A Hungarian court has denied a petition for an Italian activist to be released on house arrest as she awaits trial on charges that she assaulted three far-right militants.

The case of Ilaria Salis has sparked friction between the Hungarian and Italian governments after Salis, a former school teacher, was brought to court in shackles in January.

Outside of court on Thursday, Roberto Salis, the defendant's father, expressed disappointment with the Hungarian justice system.

US shipping industry chiefs meet after Baltimore bridge collapse

US Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg is meeting with shippers and supply chain operators on Thursday.

Yen hits low against USD
