US announces new sanctions on Russia: two year anniv of Ukraine war

The United States has announced a raft of new sanctions against Russia, two years after its invasion of Ukraine.

The more than 500 sanctions are aimed at impeding Moscow's war effort, with some targeting people connected to the imprisonment of Russian opposition figure Alexei Navalny, who died last Friday.

US President Joe Biden blames Russia's President Vladimir Putin for Navalny's death, an accusation the Kremlin denies.

It's widely believed that a manned lunar mission is likely toward the end of the decade.

Odysseus is carrying a number of experiments for NASA and others, but the landing almost ended in disaster - as the astronomer and science writer Dr David Whitehouse explains.
