Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to Meet Xi Jinping on Sidelines of APEC Summit

Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. is set to hold discussions with Chinese leader Xi Jinping amid ongoing tensions in the South China Sea.

It'll be the second time the two will meet this year, as both are attending the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Summit in San Francisco.

US drops human rights sanctions on China institute for Beijing’s co-operation on fentanyl ingredients

CUE: Beijing's agreed to rethink controls on ingredients to make the addictive drug fentanyl, after Washington lifted sanctions on a Chinese government institute of forensic science. The announcement came after the first meeting in a year between President Xi Jinping and President Joe Biden this week, in San Francisco.

U.S. stocks mixed on weak data

Paul Pelosi hammer attacker found guilty

UNRWA stops humanitarian conveys due to communications blackout

The United Nations says it will halt cross border humanitarian
deliveries on Friday due to the communication blackout in Gaza.
UNRWA, the UN's Relief Agency, says almost everyone in Gaza is now in
need of food assistance and it is slowly running out of supplies.
It says not being able to communicate with staff on the ground is
making the delivery of much needed aid extremely difficult.

Mother of 6-year-old shooter sentenced to prison in US

The mother of a 6-year-old boy who shot his teacher in the United States has been sentenced to prison on drug charges.


Deja Taylor pleaded guilty to using cannabis while owning a firearm, which is illegal under US law.


In January, her son brought the gun to school and seriously injured Abby Zwerner in her first-grade classroom.


The shooting reignited an age-old debate in the US over gun control.

President Biden to sign law to avert government shutdown

US President Joe Biden is set to sign into law a bill passed late last night by Congress, one that prevents a government shutdown, for now. 


Senators voted overwhelmingly for the measure on Wednesday after it was approved by lawmakers in the House of Representatives, avoiding the usual end-of-year brinkmanship in the heart of American democracy.

Pedro Sanchez clinches new mandate as Spanish Prime Minister

Nigeria Inflation Rises Further in October to Reach 27.3%
