Guilty verdict for 'crypto king' Sam Bankman-Fried

The founder of failed cryptocurrency exchange FTX Sam Bankman-Fried has been found guilty of fraud and money laundering.

He now faces a possible prison sentence of up to 110 years.

Blinken: US aiming for "durable, sustainable peace" in Gaza

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken says he's working on finding a
"durable, sustainable peace" for Israelis and Palestinians.

He made the comments just before boarding a plane to Israel, where
he'll meet Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Friday.

He also said he plans to talk to Israel about "concrete steps" to
minimize danger to civilians.

It comes after US President Joe Biden said a "pause" in fighting would
help to get civilians and hostages out of Gaza.

Gaza border crossings continue as death toll tops 9,000

A limited number of people are continuing to leave Gaza via the Rafah
crossing into Egypt.

Only a hundred people have managed to leave so far on Thursday, with
7,000 expected to be evacuated from 60 different countries over the
coming week.

The health ministry in Gaza run by Hamas says more than 9,000 people
have been killed since the conflict began on October 7th.

Alabama approves nitrogen executions

The US state of Alabama has been cleared to use nitrogen in death
penalty executions, making it the first state to use the gas.

Vote in divided Congress over Israel aid bill

The US House of Representatives is voting today (Thursday) on a bill to provide more than $14 billion in aid to Israel.

Pakistan begins deportation of thousands of undocumented Afghans

Pakistan has begun deporting thousands of undocumented migrants, mostly Afghans, after the deadline for voluntary deportation came to an end earlier this week

More than 7,300 refugees, including over 100 prisoners, have already been deported through the Torkham border crossing with Afghanistan.

Ugandan Army Kills ADF Rebels Linked to Attack on Tourists
