US GDP up in second quarter

US GDP grew faster than expected earlier this year, according to Department of Commerce figures released on Thursday. 


The world's largest economy was up 2.4 per cent in the second quarter — that's higher than the first, and well above the rate predicted by economists.


It's a sign, the White House claims, that President Biden's economic plan is working.

Major New Battery Plant Planned For Hungary
