China's top diplomat welcomes John Kerry for further climate talks

CUE: China's top diplomat, Wang Yi, is in talks with America's climate envoy, John Kerry, who's on the third day of a four-day visit to Beijing. China stopped talking to the United States on global warming in August. That was in protest at a senior American politician, Nancy Pelosi, visiting the democratic island of Taiwan, which Beijing says is part of China.

Australia – Arguments for Indigenous Voice to Parliament made public

Swatch Sues Malaysian Government Over LGBTQ Watch Seizure


The Swiss watchmaker Swatch says it's filed a lawsuit against the Malaysian government after it seized rainbow-colour watches celebrating LGBT rights from its stores.

The company is demanding damages and return of the watches, worth $14,000.

Wall St closes up ahead of earnings season

Wall Street started the week in positive territory with all three
indices climbing ahead of major earnings reports.

Some of the biggest tech companies also received a boost despite fears
of lower profits this quarter.

US: Russia pulling out of the grain deal “irresponsible and dangerous”

The White House has labelled Russia's decision to pull out of the
Black Sea grain deal as "irresponsible and dangerous".

The initiative has provided safe passage to 33 million tonnes of
Ukrainian grain over the last year.

The end of the deal comes after a reported attack on a Moscow
controlled bridge linking Crimea to Russia.

Twitter ad revenue slumps, piling more pressure on Musk

United States battles extreme heat and floods

Around a third of the United States remains under heat advisories as the country battles with extreme weather.


Millions of people in the South of the country are facing record temperatures.

Over the weekend, highs of 118 degrees, or 48 celsius, were recorded in Phoenix, Arizona.


Forecasters predict the heat wave could expand this week, while flash floods are also putting lives at risk.

UN Secretary General disappointed in Russia's decision to withdrawal from grain deal

Russia has pulled out of the Black Sea grain initiative and the UN
Secretary General says this will have a negative impact on global food
prices.
The deal was initially brokered by the United Nations and Turkiye
which allowed for grain from Ukraine to be exported through the Black
