Damning Report Finds Boris Johnson Deliberately Misled MPs

Former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has been found guilty of repeated contempts of parliament for deliberately misleading the House of Commons.

The damning report by the privileges committee of the UK parliament is in relation to the 'partygate' scandal, where social gatherings were held in Downing Street, in breach of the government's own strict pandemic guidelines.

The recommendation to suspend Mr Johnson from parliament for 90 days can't be enforced, as he stepped down as an MP last week, having been given an early copy of the report.

He has called it a 'political assassination', a 'witch hunt', and criticised the reports authors, his own Conservative Party and current Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.

Despite the findings, political historian Sir Anthony Seldon has warned never to rule out a comeback.
