Opposition parties in India say they will boycott the opening ceremony of the country's new parliament building this weekend.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will oversee the event but critics say this sidelines the President of India, who is the head of the state.

UK ENERGY BILLS TO FALL

S Korean team concludes ALPs inspection

Stocks drop again on debt ceiling fears

Turner Turner dies

UN: Fragile ceasefire in the Middle East

The United Nations says while the ceasefire is holding, between Israel and Palestine, talks between the two sides must be encouraged.

One year since Uvalde shooting


It's a year to the day since 19 children and two teachers were brutally killed in the third-deadliest school shooting in United States history, a shocking and devastating tragedy which has scarred the small town of Uvalde in the U.S. state of Texas. 


On Wednesday evening, a candlelight vigil will be held at the Memorial Park amphitheatre there, to commemorate the lives lost.
