UK regulator blocks Microsoft gaming takeover

The UK's Competition and Markets Authority has blocked a proposed takeover by Microsoft of games developer Activision Blizzard. The regulator says the deal would have altered the gaming market to the detriment of innovation. The gaming company has accused the UK of being 'closed for business', as Julia Chapman reports.

Sudan jailbreak frees war crimes suspect

The continued unrest in Sudan has led to the release of multiple
prisoners - including a former Sudanese politician wanted for alleged
war crimes and crimes against humanity.

Ahmed Haroun reportedly broke out of jail.

Singaporean Drug Trafficker Executed Despite Calls for Clemency


A Singaporean man convicted for trying to traffic drugs has been executed despite calls for clemency from his family and activists.

First Republic Bank shares plunge nearly 50%
