POPE BENEDICT'S BODY TO LIE IN STATE BEFORE VATICAN FUNERAL

The Vatican says funeral preparations are underway for former Pope Benedict who died Saturday. 

It's been confirmed that the current pontiff, Pope Francis, will preside over the funeral of his predecessor.

POPE BENEDICT LYING IN STATE BEGINS

Former Pope Benedict's lying in state is starting at the Vatican.

Tens of thousands of people are expected to pay their respects there ahead of his funeral on Thursday.

Benedict died on Saturday at the age of 95.

In 2013 he was the first Pope to resign in 600 years.

More international Covid testing requirements for travelers from China

Philippines Restores Air Traffic Control Operations Following Power Outage

The Philippines has restored air traffic control operations out of its capital, Manila, after hundreds of flights were suspended due to a malfunction.

More than 280 flights were delayed, cancelled or diverted as a result of the technical issues that forced authorities to close the country's airspace.

The transport ministry said a problem with the power supply led to a loss of communication, radio, radar and internet.

Nancy Chua was travelling from Manila back home to Singapore with her two young children and says her flight was delayed by 13 hours.

Man charged with murder over Idaho university student deaths

A 28 year old man has been charged with four counts of first count degree murder and one count of burglary over the mysterious stabbing deaths of four University of Idaho students last month.


Authorities say tips from the public helped them crack the case.

US military accuses China of "unsafe" plane maneuver over South China Sea

The Pentagon says a Chinese fighter jet "performed an unsafe maneuver" in close proximity to a US air force plane last week.
