Sudan hit by worst dengue fever outbreak in more than decade

Sudan has been hit by its worst dengue fever outbreak in more than a decade.

Bad flooding, caused by warming temperatures, and poor public
healthcare have driven the spread of the disease.

Sudan is already in a volatile political and economic state.

More than 1400 people have been diagnosed, and nine people have died so far.

Britain must end 'immigration dependency' says opposition leader

Britain's leader of the opposition has called for an end to the nation's "immigration dependency".


Sir Keir Starmer told the Confederation of British Industry conference he would move the economy away from its "low-pay model".


This comes after business bosses said the government should allow economic migration in areas where skilled workers cannot be found.

EU lawmakers set to rubberstamp women on boards legislation

European Union lawmakers are set to give their seal of approval to new legislation aimed at boosting the number of women on corporate boards.


The laws will apply to all large publicly-listed companies in the bloc, mandating more transparent recruitment procedures.


Currently only around 30% of board members in the EU's largest publicly listed companies are women.

Gunmen Abduct More Than 100 in Nigeria's Zamfara State

Colorado gay club shooting suspect charged with murder and hate crimes

Investigators have filed murder and hate crimes charges against the suspect accused of shooting five people dead at a gay nightclub in in the US state of Colorado.


22-year-old Anderson Lee Aldrich allegedly fired an AR-15-style weapon in Club Q on Saturday night killing five people and injuring more than 25 more.
