70 Million Nigerians Lack Access to Potable Water

The World Bank says 70 million Nigerians had no access to basic drinking water in 2021.


The global body in a new report adds that 114 million people in the country were without basic sanitation facilities in the same year.

Japan govt under pressure as three key ministers resign in a month

The cabinet of Japan's Prime Minister Fumio Kishida is under scrutiny following the third high-level resignation in less a month. 


The latest is the Internal Affairs minister who resigned on Sunday over funding discrepancies.

G7 Foreign Ministers condemn North Korean ICBM launch

G7 foreign Ministers have issued a statement condemning North Korea's launch last Friday of an intercontinental ballistic missile.

At least 5 people dead in Colorado Club shooting

At least 5 people have been killed and 25 others injured in a shooting in a gay club in the US state of colorado.

Police say a 22 year old suspect is in custody and being treated for injuries.

Musk lifts Twitter ban on Trump

Elon Musk has announced that Donald Trump's account on Twitter is to be reinstated, nearly two years after he was ordered permanently banned from the platform by its previous management.


Musk held a Twitter poll that showed 51% of people who participated wanted the former President back on the platform.

US DoJ appoints special counsel for Trump probes

United States Attorney General Merrick Garland has appointed a special counsel to determine whether criminal charges should be brought against Donald Trump, arguing it's the "right thing to do."


The former President is under investigation by the Department of Justice in relation to the alleged removal of dozens of secret files from the White House and, separately, his conduct during the January 6th US Capitol riot by a mob of his supporters.

US AG appoints special counsel to oversee Trump investigations

US Attorney General Merrick Garland has appointed a special counsel to
oversee the criminal investigations into former president Donald
Trump.

The probes are looking at Trump's handling of classified documents
that were found at his Mar-a-Lago residence. As well his role in the
January 6th attack on the Capitol and the attempt to prevent the
transfer of power to Joe Biden.

Garland has named Jack Smith, a federal prosecutor, and current war
crimes prosecutor at the International Criminal Court at The Hague.

Garland spoke to reporters at the Department of Justice.

Europe agrees to climate change compensation

Saudi Crown Prime immune from Khashoggi murder case, says US gvt

The Biden administration says Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman should be given immunity from a lawsuit filed by Jamal Khashoggi's fiancé.


Mr Khashoggi, a prominent critic of the regime, was murdered at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul in October 2018.

Swedish investigators say explosions at Nord Stream pipelines were act of sabotage


Swedish investigators say they have found traces of explosives at the site of explosions which hit the Nord Stream 1 and 2 pipelines in September.

They've therefore concluded the explosions were an act of sabotage.

The gas pipelines run side-by-side from Russia, across the Baltic Sea off the coast of Estonia and on to Germany.

Russia signals prospect of a prisoner swap has “strengthened”

Russia on Friday said it was hopeful that a prisoner swap deal with the U.S. could be reached, injecting fresh optimism into the months-long negotiations.
