UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson's reshuffling his cabinet as he fights for his political life.

His finance minister and Health Secretary quit on Tuesday, along with several other more junior government officials, after a series of controversies.

On Wednesday Boris Johnson will face Prime Minister's Questions, and a grilling from the Liaison Committee of senior MPs.

Japan ruling coalition poised to win over half of upper house seats

Death toll in Chicago massacre rises to 7 as new details about suspect emerge

The death toll in the Independence Day shooting in Chicago has risen to seven, after a parade-goer succumbed to their injuries in hospital.

Meanwhile, police have revealed that the suspect - 21 year-old Robert Crimo - was known to them and had been reported by family members over his threats to commit acts of violence.

Two of Prime Minister's closest allies resign - calls grow for Boris Johnson to go

The UK prime minister could be forced to resign after two cabinet members stepped down.

Health Secretary Sajid Javid sent a letter to Boris Johnson saying he can no longer serve the prime minister in "good conscience". 

Moments later, Chancellor Rishi Sunak also resigned. He said his and the prime minister's approaches are "fundamentally too different."

This comes after it was revealed Boris Johnson knew about complaints made over disgraced MP Chris Pincher's behaviour.

Despite promising to not have been aware before appointing him as the Deputy Chief Whip.

Political journalist Gina Davidson says this may be the final straw for the prime minister.

Alleged parade shooter dressed as woman to escape: police

A 21-year-old is in custody after six people were shot dead and dozens were injured at an Independence Day Parade near Chicago, Illinois.

Police say Robert Crimo III (CREE-MO) preplanned the attack and used a ladder attached to a building to access a roof near the parade route to fire down on spectators with a high-powered rifle.

Resignations Rock British Cabinet

The UK's Chancellor of the Exchequer and Health Secretary have both resigned from the government.

It comes at a time when Prime Minister Boris Johnson has come under increasing pressure for his role in a series of scandals.

The most recent involves disgraced MP Chris Pincher, who was given a prominent role in the House of Commons, despite allegations of sexual misconduct.

Police say Chicago July 4th parade attack was planned for weeks

Police say the 21 year old suspect arrested in connection with the July 4th shooting attack on an Independence Day parade in Chicago had planned the assault for weeks.

Robert Crimo is accused of killing 6 people and injuring 30 in the affluent suburb of Highland Park.

Police say Crimo disguised himself in women's clothing during the attack.

A second rifle was found in the car in which he was attempting to escape, along with pistols that were discovered in his home.

He's believed to have fired 70 rounds of ammunition at parade goers.

Blinken and Yang Wi to meet as US weighs lifting tariffs on Chinese goods
